Channel Infrastructure Dam Improvement: Water Flow and Structural Stability

El Paso Water’s rehabilitation of the Bear Ridge Channel utilized custom-engineered solutions—including perforated geocells, articulated concrete blocks (ACBs), and nonwoven TE-8 geotextile—to transform an underperforming, debris-clogged concrete chute into a low-impact, efficient, and structurally robust drainage system. This integrated design slowed flow velocities, minimized sediment accumulation, and reduced overflow risks to nearby communities by channeling water laterally and vertically recharging the aquifer. Titan Enviro’s in-house prefabrication of 164,176 ft² of geocell panels, 2,700 ft² of ACBs, and 180,000 ft² of geotextile streamlined installation, eliminated excess material handling in a residential setting, and cut project time and costs. The result: a resilient, maintenance-friendly channel that improves hydraulic performance while enhancing community safety and environmental outcomes.
