Titan is thrilled to continue its research partnership with McGill University’s Geo-Group, a group made up of graduates, researchers, technical and academic staff involved in geotechnical engineering research and teaching. We proudly support this industry initiative through in-kind financial contributions, testing materials, and technical support from our own CTO of Geosynthetics, Sam Bhat. The Geo-Group’s current project funded through NSERC’s Alliance funding (ALLRP) grant involves a 3-year research project, in partnership with Titan entitled Improving the performance of ground-supported slabs subject to extreme environmental conditions by using rigid high-resistance fiberglass geogrids. The project will go on until 2024.
Sam Bhat, Titan’s CTO of Geosynthetics says, “I’m excited to collaborate with McGill University’s Geo-Group on this groundbreaking study, which aims to provide an alternative environmentally friendly design option by utilizing Titan’s advanced ConForce Grids to reduce maintenance costs and extend the service life of concrete structures exposed to harsh environmental conditions and cold climates in Canada. This method is projected to result in long-term solutions with a significant reduction in carbon emissions”.
